The International Workshop on Inductive Modelling IWIM-2019 (see http://www.iwim.irtc.org.ua/openconf.php) was held on September 17-20, 2019, in Lviv Polytechnic National University in conjunction with the IEEE International Conference "Computer Science and Information Technologies" CSIT-2019 (see http://www.csit.lp.edu.ua ) .
The event organizers were:
The Chairman of the IWIM-2018 was Professor Volodymyr Stepashko.
The Workshop was successive in the chain of International Conferences and Workshops being held since 2002 in Ukraine (Lviv-2002; 2017, 2018; Kyiv-2005, 2008, 2011-2016; Yevpatoria-2010) and abroad (Prague-2007; Krynica-2009, Poland). They are traditionally focused on the theory, new algorithms, and applications of automated data mining and knowledge discovery technologies based mainly on the GMDH methodology as a typical inductive approach to modeling from data originated by Academician Oleksiy Ivakhnenko.
The motivation of this 10th Workshop was to:
The Workshop Program consisted of 13 papers selected by international reviewers among 21 received contributions (2 reviewers per paper): 9 papers from Ukraine and in 1 from Ireland,Spain, England, Germany and Czech Republic. All these 13 papers were published in the "Proceedings of the IEEE 14th International Scientific and Technical Conference onComputer Sciences and Information Technologies (CSIT-2019) & International Workshop on Inductive Modelling IWIM-2019", September 17-20, 2019, Lviv, Ukraine, - Lviv: LNPU,2019. – Vol. 1. – 226 p. (ISBN 978-1-7281-0806-3).
In total, 21 Ukrainian and 9 foreign scientists was authors of the Workshop papers, 3 of them were from Ireland, 2 from Russia and Spain, 1 from Germany and Czech Republic. All 13 papers were presented orally at the Workshop, 2 of them by Skype connection. Among these 13 papers, 5 ones selected by the CSIT Program Committee were presented as plenary lectures for the whole CSIT-2019 Conference.
All the Workshop papers are included in the IEEE Xplore digital library providing access to IEEE scientific journals and conference proceedings and submitted to indexing by SCOPUS, Web of Science, etc., which will promote awareness of the wider world scientific community with the presented results.
This scientific forum with wide international participation under the IEEE support testifies high development level of the theory, methods and tools of inductive modelling as an advanced approach of computational intelligence.
The decision was made about holding the next International Workshop on Inductive Modelling IWIM-2020 again in September 2020 in Lviv, Ukraine, in conjunction with the IEEE International Conference "Computer Science and Information Technologies" CSIT-2012.
